Gulfstream Jets

The Gulfstream brand made its first appearance in 1957 with the modest, but highly successful Gulfstream I, a turboprop designed specifically for business travel that would eventually morph into the turbojet-powered Gulfstream II. Since then Gulfstream has produced approximately 1,500 aircraft for private, corporate, military and government customers worldwide.

The Gulfstream II (1967-1977) and Gulfstream III (1979-1985) are regarded as heavy jets and carry approximately 12 passengers; both have Rolls Royce engines, with all the flair and aesthetics expected in a Gulfstream. The Gulfstream III was also the first business jet to fly over both poles.

The first Gulfstream IV (1986-2002) was delivered shortly after Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation made its initial appearance on the Fortune 500 List. Widely considered the classic Gulfstream look, the GIV is five feet larger than a GIII and can fly over 4,000 miles nonstop. The Gulfstream V was introduced in 1995 and marked a new era of growth and success for the company. In 2001, Gulfstream acquired Galaxy Aerospace along with its current aircraft, the Astra SPX and Galaxy - later rebranded as the G100 and G200. A limited number of G300, G350, G400, and G500 followed. The all-new G650 is the largest, most technologically advanced aircraft in the Gulfstream fleet; it took its first flight on November 25, 2009.
